Itinerary Caribbean Vibes – 7 days
Day 1 – Arrival Cartagena
- Arrival in Cartagena. Upon your arrival at the airport in Cartagena de Indias, you will be picked up and brought to your hotel. Welcome to beautiful Cartagena!

Day 2 – City tour in Cartagena
- Cartagena is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Colombia, also known as the “Pearl of the Caribbean”. It is the main destination for culture and history. In 1984 Cartagena has been declared as a World Culture Heritage by the UNESCO. The city combines an impressive, modern and colonial architecture created by the Spanish. It protects the past and the memories of that time.
- Cartagena offers cultural festivals, amazing beaches, fine dining, a lively nightlife and a significant hotel and tourism infrastructure.
- During your city tour you will visit two monuments which are of great historical value outside the old city. San Felipe de Barajas is a fortress in order to protect the city. The monastery and the church of La Candelaria on the hill de La Popa are outstanding examples of religious and colonial architecture. Look down and enjoy the most beautiful view!
- Free time in the evening! There is MORE than enough to do in Cartagena. Explore the city just by foot. ‘Get lost’ in Cartagena… Enjoy strolling through charming, romantic alleys. Little shops everywhere, nice little bars and cozy eateries. While strolling realize that Cartagena de Indias is an impressive city that holds the secrets of its history in its walls, in the balconies of its buildings and its narrow cobblestone streets.
- Don’t forget to sit down on the city center walls to enjoy the most beautiful sunset you have ever seen.
- Optional: visit the church and the monastery of San Pedro Claver, the palest of inquisition, the gold museum of Zenú (closed on Mondays), the cathedral, the church of Santo Domingo, and the barricade of Santo Domingo, Santiago and San Francisco Javier as well as other famous places.

Day 3 – Transfer from Cartagena to Santa Marta
- After exploring the “Pearl of the Caribbean” you will continue your journey to Santa Marta and its surroundings. Here you will stay the night in a beautiful finca which is about half an hour from the Tayrona National Park.

Day 4 – Day Trip to Tayrona National Park
- Today you get the chance to explore the amazing Tayrona National Park. A beautiful park where the foothills of the highlands meet the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy an eco-adventure between mountains, jungle and Caribbean sea and beaches.
- The best feeling in the world is to stroll and to feel free in a beautiful nature like the Tayrona Park. Look around, watch the birds, the lovely butterflies and the beautiful flowers!
- If you feel like swimming?! Everything is possible. Plunge in the water and relax!

Day 5 – Riohacha & visit “Camarones” / La Guajira
- In the morning you continue your journey along the coast to the very north of Colombia: La Guajira. This is a peninsula full of contrasts provided by the sea, sand, coal, cactuses, and a small green oasis. It is the home of the Wayúu Indians – sons and daughters of the land and the rain – where reality blends with fantasy and the weaving of very artistic handicrafts. You
- After exploring the “Pearl of the Caribbean” you will continue your journey to Santa Marta and its surroundings. Here you will stay the night in a beautiful finca which is about half an hour from the Tayrona National Park.

Day 6 – Cabo de la Vela / La Guajira
- Today you head to Cabo de la Vela. During the 4 hour long ride you will enjoy beautiful and diverse landscapes. On your way you will visit Manaure where you will learn more about the salt production. Furthermore you will visit and spend some time at the beautiful beaches of “Pilón de Azucar”, “Playa Ojo de Agua” and “El Faro”.
- Tonight you will spend in a hammock or cabaña right in front of the beach at a typical Rancheria. Don’t forget to watch the stars at night! Uncountable stars in the air provide you a WONDERFUL view!

Day 7 – Visit indigenous community of Wayuú Indians / Departure
- Today you will return to Riohacha. On the way you will visit an indigenous community of the Wayúu Indians and get to know more about their interesting culture. After this visit you will return to Riohacha. From there you will be taken to the airport.
- Unfortunatly the day has come to say goodbye to Colombia. Hopefully Colombia has enchanted you with its beauty and it’s friendly people!
